What is an Arepa con Queso? - as seen on Encanto!

When a BAGEL meets a TORTILLA
An Arepa is a South American food staple commonly made with precooked cornmeal (Masa Harina) for a signature golden color and corn taste. They are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside and are enjoyed all day; sometimes topped as a toast and others filled as a sandwich.

The Arepa is a national food staple in Colombia and Venezuela. With the political and social turmoil that forced many Venezuelans & Colombians to migrate to other countries in the late 1900's and early 2000's, many decided to start businesses abroad selling their favorite arepas to the locals. Therefore, the arepa has slowly but surely stolen the hearts of many people around the world.

Arepas are an ideal bread substitute since they are Gluten Free, Vegan and made with only a few natural ingredients. You can make them at home by preparing the corn dough and cooking them on a griddle, or you can buy them ready-to-toast ( and save 30 min of your day) at our website  www.justtoastit.com !
